A box of innovative electrical engineering to create a market for excess generated solar energy in off-grid and peri-urban locations; providing energy access to nearby SMEs and households and an opportunity for array owners sell the energy it doesn’t need - what’s not to like? The Solar Energy Port is a locally manufactured, modular solar generator which is designed to replace fossil fuel generators in locations across Nigeria where SMEs are clustered. With InnovateUK backing for the pilot phase, we are actively seeking equity finance to scale the solution.

At the UK grid edge - where centralised power generation meet our local communities who must surely electrify everything to enable the country to achieve its net-zero aspirations - there is a lot of work and collaboration to be done. We are interested in exploring collaboration with technology, finance and other solution providers to address the challenges of household retrofit and transformation of our houses and local communities.
